ACCORDIONMAN

 ACCORDIONMAN (Serhii Shamrai, born June 28, 1992, in Novoselivka, Zaporizhzhia region, Ukraine) is a Ukrainian accordionist, performer, and one of the most recognized accordion creators in the digital world, with over 200 million video views and more than 1 million followers across social media platforms.    He began playing the accordion at the age of 12 and received formal musical education in Ukraine, graduating from the P. I. Maiboroda Zaporizhzhia Music College in 2012, where he studied under Serhii Peliuk and from the P. I. Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine in Kyiv in 2019, where he studied under Pavlo Feniuk. His early career included numerous awards at international competitions and extensive touring across Europe. Blending classical virtuosity with contemporary music and modern performance aesthetics, ACCORDIONMAN redefines the image of the accordion for a global audience. Performing on the digital Roland FR-8x accordion, he expands the instrument’s sonic possibilities, creating a powerful and versatile live experience that bridges tradition and innovation.   In 2015, he co-founded the instrumental ethno-group B&B Project together with bandura player Tetiana Mazur, which gained international recognition for its modern interpretations of folk, classical, and popular music. In 2018, the group represented Ukrainian culture at the Economic Forum in Davos, and in 2019, they performed in Kyiv at an event featuring Tom Cruise.    As a solo artist, ACCORDIONMAN has built a strong global presence online, showcasing the accordion in a fresh and engaging way. His viral videos include “Can you hear the difference between a cheap and expensive accordion?” (over 4 million views) and a YouTube Shorts performance of “Czardasz”, which has surpassed 22 million views, making it one of the most popular accordion videos on the platform.  In 2024, he collaborated with international musicians, including violinist Petar Markoski and cellist DIUGCELLO (Janek Diug), further expanding his artistic reach across genres and audiences.   In 2025, ACCORDIONMAN received the YouTube Silver Play Button, recognizing his significant impact and growing influence in the digital music space. Today, he performs internationally, presenting dynamic live shows that combine instrumental mastery, emotional expression, and modern repertoire. With a distinctive style and strong stage presence, ACCORDIONMAN continues to push the boundaries of the accordion and connect with audiences worldwide.
